The Ourisman Signature Package
I purchased my FR-S from Koons Tysons Toyota last August. I originally wanted to purchase from Ourisman Chantilly because they're much closer to me, but they couldn't get the transmission/color right. Since nobody had them on the lot at that time, I had to wait for mine about a month, but Koons finally got an automatic Whiteout (don't berate me for not getting manual - that's :offtopic:). Because I was getting mine basically directly from port, I was able to request no drilling in the front bumper for the license plate holder, that the car would not be test driven, no car wash... basically didn't want anybody touching it after it had come off the truck.
My boyfriend likes the FR-S so much that he wants to get one of his own. Camelflage (the boyfriend) wanted to see if he could order/request from the next allocation a manual Hot Lava FR-S from Ourisman Chantilly. He wanted to have the same treatment I got at Koons as far as not having anything done to the car once it got to the dealership.
There were 3 or 4 hot lavas on the lot the day we went, but the ones on the lot had pin stripes, tinted windows, mud flaps, and the Scion decal on the back bumper and, of course, the front bumper was already drilled into. When we went to the sales associate, Camelflage asked if he could "order" an FR-S and get the same treatment I got at Koons. They of course asked why he didn't want one off the lot and he replied by saying he didn't want all of the extras blah, blah, blah. After going back and forth for a bit, they said that the pin stripes, tinting, etc. was part of the "Ourisman Signature" and they would not be able to sell him a car without that even if he got one from the next allocation. So, it ended with us leaving and Ourisman losing yet another sale.
This thread is more of a rant, but has anyone bought from Ourisman Chantilly/Fairfax? If so, did you keep the Ourisman signature look or did you remove the pinstripes or anything else? We know that the pinstripes can be removed and the dealer was willing to do that, but he wants his car touched as little as possible.
It's just ridiculous that a dealership can't give the buyer what they want when they're asking for less. Doesn't make sense to me... What do you all think?
