Does TPS system need to be re-taught when going back to summer tires?
Finished my first winter and now back on summer tires. Stock rims and tires from the factory that came off last fall have been on the car for about a month.
I did not run TPS in my winter tires. Yesterday, I notice that the TPS light is on as if the winter tires were still on the car. Do the TPS need to be re-introduced to the car after a six month absence? I cant ever see paying for this feature, so I would not pay to have it re-set, but if it indicates a malfunctioning system, I would want to get it taken care of. |

It seems to take awhile before the system reacts to any change, especially after sitting awhile. I'd give it 100+ miles to see if it resets; I suspect it will if you give it time. I have no idea why the system behaves this way. |
My light went off as soon as I changed them. I live 5 minutes away from the garage I work at and it went off during that time. If its still on, that means you'll probably have to reset them.

Check the pressure is OK?

My light was out as soon as I put the stock tires/tpms (on new wheels) onto the car.

My light went out right away with the summer wheels/tires in the back seat after being mounted while still driving on the snows with no sensors.
