A2DP Bluetooth Skips

This driving me nuts. I will be in the midst of an mp3 and the output will skip out briefly every 13-14 secs. I tried it with and without the Nav on (BRZL). It was the same with my old SGS3 and now my new HTC One. It does it on different apps, audiobook as well as poweramp. I don't think it skips on phonecalls though I may not have noticed if it coincides with a pause in the conversation.

Am I the only one having this issue as I don't see it mentioned anywhere?

Stock or custom ROM?

bdbx18 05-24-2013 01:21 PM

I was using custom ROMs on my SGS3 and am on stock with my HTC One.

Ok, the SGS3 I understand then since any AOSP based ROM has A2DP issues due to AVRCP bugs.

On the One front, unless HTC is using their own modified AVRCP, it might be plagued with the same issue since the issue was brought around with the move to 4.2.x.

Also if any other techies chime in, yes, I know AVRCP has nothing to do with media streaming but has been confirmed numerous times that it's the root of the issue.

Looks like I need to borrow my wife's ip5 for a test this weekend.

I hate to fallback to a aux cable. Wait, does it even have a aux input? I need to check it.

Once I found out that there was a USB input, I paid 20$ and used that. Album art + No waiting = Whatever, I'm done with bluetooth.

Have you tried unsyncing your contacts and texts form the deck? This fixed all BT hiccup issues for me.. Google Play All Access works like a champ.

I only want and have media and phone connectivity so no contacts or anything else. My commute goes through data dead zones in the canyons so I load up on tons of music mp3s as well as talk radio mp3s.

My brand new blk 64gb HTC One was a new bluetooth setup and I was very disappointed to have the same old dropout problem. It is unlocked but running on the stock ROM.

Norkoastal 05-24-2013 08:57 PM

I'd try pairing a new connection and make sure on the initial setup you uncheck contacts/phonebook/text options... See if the skipping stops then.

This is nuts! On my last long drive, there weren't any dropouts. And there's nothing changed on my phone.
