These are one of three new designs available for the Impreza model line-up this year in Japan.

Per Google Translate:
White LED lights in the shape of a ring engine is started. The smart lamp that is switched to halogen fog at the time of rain and fog.

<All models>
* When attached to (1.6i) vehicle standard fog-free car, (sold separately) is required separately fog light kit installation.
* (It is off the fog lamp is lit) that will light while the engine is running. There is no off switch.
* Prices shown are manufacturer's suggested retail body price including consumption tax. When replacing, separately, sold separately installed products and installation fees will be charged.

The install is about as straightforward as it can be applying a completely different models accessory to my car. It was a fairly painless rough-in. The Fog Lights are fully functional already due to the uber sweet OEM adapter. Now I just need to work out the wiring for the DRL LED's that I will be using as NRL LED's.

On to the pics:

This is a very cool OEM adapter harness to go from our Fog to an H11 Bulb.

I've started a new thread about this mod as there was some interest in it from other members.

I've had Yuki populate it on jparts and there is only this direct link: http://www.japanparts.com/db/partsli...mat-subaru-001

He thought that I was the only one crazy enough to want these and doesn't have them permamnently populated in any section of the site.

@Beyer Subaru nice find. looks like it should fit the FR-S as well. just so i understand correctly. the ring is on all the time and acts as a DRL? and then when you turn on the fogs, the ring will turn off and the halogen bulb will turn on. is that correct?

also can you take a couple of shots of the whole front with the DRLs/fogs on?

Not my cup of tea, but nice find on the H11 adapter. I would have used that instead of the adapter cable I purchased when I did my fog light swap. Also where is the led ring getting its power from?

This. If the ring stays on acting as DRL, where does it get power from (seems like it will need to get tied into the OEM DRL circuitry - or a relay tied to ACC and an external switch?). I hope I can make something like this work on the FRS because that ring looks dope. You BRZ guys have that cool-ass DRL too, but I gave up on that a while back.

The kit is supposed to be wired as DRL LED and normal Fogs. Meaning that the LED Ring will be lit as a DRL. The Fogs will be on or off as the Headlights are on/off. Being DRL's the ring will go out when the heads come on.

The LED Ring is powered as a DRL with it's own wiring, harnesses and relays etc. The harness is identical to our (BRZ) existing DRL's.

Yes, it has all of it's own independant wiring for the DRL's. The Fogs however have no extra wiring. Meaning it will be plug and play for the Fogs if you have existing Fogs or the car is pre-wired for Fogs.

Your damn skippy. JDM fairy dust is very expensive these days.

i really like the way these look. any idea of the dimensions? maybe this could be a cheap diy with a halo from trfs instead of paying almost 500 bucks for this.

Looks awesome. Great work man.

Sorry, but I didn't actually take any kind of measurements. Yes, you could work out the halo's easily through the aftermarket for a lot less coin. The allure of this part for me is that it's an OEM Subaru offering with above average fit, finish and reliability.

no worries. i feel ya on that. i'm just looking at it from a frs/modders perspective since we frs people have to mod ours just to even have fogs as it is i figure someone would be interested in taking it a step further with a diy halo. but i'm sure someone will figure it out in time now that we have this as inspiration.

I wonder if us cheapskate FRS-owners can make it work with our cars with the fog-light mounting kit from http://www.amayama.com/search/?q=su00301519 and install these angel-eyes fog lights: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Projector-F...ctor_sku73.htm

These look pretty awesome, I would consider them if a vendor did a group buy or something

These are a very faint halo during the day or night. They're not like BMW or Aftermarket brightness. They are a very subtle and clean white light.

The day pics look very true to reality. The night pics look a lot brighter than in reality. At night they are more pronounced but they are still very subtle and subdued.
