That looks like a GPS system. Question is, are the GPS optional or standard? |
Display audio simply means a standard touch screen interface with a display. Navigation isn't standard.

I freaking hate touch screens in cars. With the jiggly ride of the FR-S it will be even more of a joke.

I don't know if it will be a fully functional navigation system, but the press release mentions this:
"The base audio system will be joined by an all-new optional BeSpoke Premium Audio system featuring AhaTM. When connected to a compatible smart phone through Aha, users can access 30,000 free audio stations, including Scion’s own signature station featuring 17 of our own music channels. In addition to audiobook stations, sports, news, and entertainment, Aha utilizes location–based services like Yelp and TripAdvisor, along with popular social media applications. The BeSpoke premium system also includes full navigation all at a great value for consumers." Makes me wonder if the "navigation" they mention is the same ole BeSpoke social media navigation/friends locator. Unfortunately, the BeSpoke thus far has proven an expensive yet rarely useful upgraded radio. I'm sure in due time, more details regarding specifications will come to light. http://pressroom.scion.com/releases/...ries+debut.htm |
I think touch screen sucks too. I'd pay more for the standard unit...

Getting the run-around big time up here in the Boston area. Out of the 6 dealerships that I have spoken with zero, zilch, nada have any information nor knowledge of the 10 series.
At least one sales associate was smart enough to at least fake that he would be able to make me happy. He told me that I should leave a $500 refundable deposit and let him work his magic. I know this is more if a MY 2014 thread but I've got ants in my pants a out this 10th anniversary special edition FR-S. I wish that there were a sticky on this topic. We should be hearing soon of the very first deliveries. I wonder if anything in the running gear/drivetrain will be tweaked at all from the MY 2013's. I'm tempted to just go with my one receptive sales guy by throwing $500 at him and rolling the dice. I purposely tried the highest volume dealerships first thinking that chances for allocation would be better. Dunno. |

For years industry surveys have shown that Toyota dealers have the highest regard for manufacturer relations. Toyota corporate sees dealers as partners, not adversaries. TMS fully supports dealers with facility, capital and staff development programs second to none. It partly explains why the Toyota franchise is the most valuable in the industry and why dealerships are rarely sold and are more often inherited. Sure, you can probably find a disgruntled dealer principal. Most likely it's because they're losing money and want anyone other than themselves to blame when they're surrounded by other Toyota dealers making the highest net profits of any franchise in the automotive industry. |

2.5 I4 and only 179 at the crank? hmm fishy. Plus IMHO it's ugly. |
I would actually prefer the current, hard keys, of the head unit. I can feel around to change stations and keep my eye on the road.
