Looking for a Tune(r) in Phoenix area

Hey guys. I got my FRS about 2 weeks ago and had the dealer put a TRD exhaust and CAI. The car sounds and drives great. Love it, but I keep ready about needing a tune to get full potential. I'm pretty new to all this kinda stuff and get worried about waisting money or screwing something up.

I'm just looking for some advise from locals. Where can I go to get a tune? Any local shops I should consider? Should I just find an online solution? If you've done it is it worth it?

Anybody willing to walk me through the best way to go about it?

Appreciate the help! Looking forward to being a part of the community.

There aren't any local shops that tune the frs to my knowledge. I checked with goodspeed and dynocomp months back and they had no plans on tuning the twins. The closest would be Crawford in CA. I got my tune from FA20 club and I've had no issues.

Can you tell me more about your tune?

You can test drive my car whenever you want. I have visconti pump and e85 as well as fa20club. Also have flex fuel on the way soon.

Come to the pavs on Saturday.

I currently have a 91 oct "stage 2" tune from fa20 club. Like any good tune, it's customized to the mods I have (afe intake, cat back). Really wakes up the car and its a fairly easy process. Just come to the Pavs or one of the get togethers we have and any number of us can explain the process.

We should get a tally of how many locals are willing to pay and see if we are close to enough value to get an ecutek license... I am sure we could get Tony @ UMS to tune if we had enough of us. I know i am willing to put down a pretty penny for a local tuner.

What do you mean by a license and why would I want/need that?

Talk to smoketrees. He says there's a tuner in Gilbert that does the frs.

Ecutek requires a license fee to be able to tune cars. Once you have that you can purchase cables through another tuner (master tuner) in the country and sell them to your users, or use your own. Ecutek does not allow end users to re-calibrate their ecu's. So even if you pay the 500-700$ for cable & vehicle license you still need a licensed tuner that is permitted to tune it.

@nelsmar I don't know if this helps, since I kind of think you would've already looked here, but per EcuTek.com, there is an EcuTek tuner in Scottsdale:

I talked with Dyno Comp back when I bought my FRS last year and they did not have any plans to tune the twins. The are an EcuTek tuner but they don't work with our cars last I checked.
