Honda vs Toyota!!!!!!!

This thread is made so that not every new topic will go off topic arguing about hondas, like the engine code thread and convertible thread (my bad on that one)

Let it fly guys and girls. Whether it be you think a civic is the greatest cars ever or that the del sol is one of the gayest cars ever, here is the place to say it.

Here is how i see it
CR-Z - Gay. Hybrid. looks decent. will not compete with the FT86
Civic- I like the looks of the EG hatch, but will never own one. ever.
S2000- Beautiful. over 120hp per liter IIRC. one of my favorite cars. period
NSX- BEAST. just look at the FX motorsports unlimited RWD domination.
Integra- not my cup of tea.
Del Sol- gayest car i have ever seen. i hate them.
CRX- super lightweight. rode in the back of one. (yes the back!) haha
RSX- good motor and looks
Old civic- 71 I believe look so gangter slammed
The rest of the cars i dont care about at all.

So let the battle begin

Silly thread.

Everyone knows Toyota's main competition in Nissan.

Not even gonna get started on this one.

it's like you're purposely starting a flame war.

Yeah, and there's really no reason for this thread in the least. A thread to discuss the merits of each brand would be nice, not a thread to bash. Both are excellent auto makers who should be commended on how they changed the import scene.

Why to make this thread?

I love how everything here turns into a Honda bashing thread.

because every other thread here has some mention of a honda. whether it be the s2k or the crz or whatever. i just thought it would be nice to have somewhere to dump all the hate so the other threads that actually have a purpose dont get filled with nonsense.

That may be. but a small argument every once in a while never hurt.

Well, I understand why you did it but it seems like on all forums, that people hate on Hondas for whatever reason. Sure most of the kiddos out here have riced out Civics, but not all Hondas are like that. Quite the contrary, most Honda enthusiasts tastefully mod their cars. You just see a lot of beat up Civics because you can find them dirt cheap.

Oh, and throw a boosted K20 in a Del Sol and then tell me it's gay. If you've never driven one then you can't speak on it. It's a fun little car to throw around some corners. (Had one before my S)

Im sure it would be. i was going off looks alone on a del sol. your right i have never driven one, but there is something about them that turns me away... maybe that it looks like it should be a mid engine. :iono:

the same can be said for the aw11 mr2 as well. may not look good to some, but then you drive it and hit some corners and :burnrubber:

My sister used to own a Del Sol, that was passed down to my brother.

It definitely needed more umph behind it, but that Del Sol was the premiere year (1993?) and didn't have VTEC. The styling was definitely a little...malibu barbieish. But it had a targa top, and after owning my Supra, I never tire of driving around in one of those.

But it was a good car to toss around, for sure. It also got great gas mileage and was reliable as hell. I berate my brother often about selling it.

Still never understood why they would make the Del Sol the successor to the CR-X.

S2KtoFT86 02-09-2010 05:44 PM

Both were 2 door, FWD coupes. It was a great little car and I regret selling mine every single day. They came out in 1992 with both the SiR and Si models. However we didn't get the del Sol until 1993. We didn't get the Si until 1994 which had the highly sought after b16 and made that thing a true rice rocket. CR-X -----> del Sol -----> S2000.
