Nova Scotia - Video! First run at Atlantic Motorsports Park!

This past weekend I took a shot at the High Performance Driving School offered by the Atlantic Sports Car Club. I must say this is the REAL deal. My previous experience in autocross led me to give this a try, and "WOW" pretty much covers it.

For mods I have Konig Deception 17 X 7.5 with 245/40 Bridgestone RE-11As all the way around, TRD intake and TRD Exhaust. After I got signed off by my instructor (who happened to own a very nicely prepared Cayman S, and LOVED the FR-S on the track) I got to go for a rip on my own. My buddy in his 87 (I think) AE86 got on the track before me so naturally we had a little fun. All the marshalls said it was really fun to watch the two 86s battle it out.

I must say it was a ton of fun chasing down new Mustang GTs all day too :p I will definitely be attending lapping and time attacks in the future. Many other people who attended were surprised by the performance of our little cars.

I ended the day with partially glazed pads which is my fault for pushing them too hard (which ended up being about as hard as I could push) but other than that the car performed flawlessly.

I have a lot more video, but here is a clip.

I urge you all to try this stuff out!

By the way I do have a Bluetooth ODB2 adapter and was datalogging the whole event. Unfortunately I was a dummy and removed the SD card from my phone while it was doing something and corrupted everything it contained. Top speed was on the back stretch at a little above 150km/h, car never heated up and seemed to love it. During AutoX I always disable all trac control but on the track I found VSC sport kept me in line (being that I am a bit of a noob) but didn't impede on my driving. My instructor felt it was "good insurance" and said it didn't affect his driving either.

I had it come on a few times going over the hump (turn 5) on the back straight, and it honestly did EXACTLY what it was supposed to. It got me perfectly back inline in only a fraction of a second.
