I knew about cabin squeaks before I bought the car but...

It's obviously a plastic cabin squeak, nothing mechanical. But its loud and driving me batshit bonkers.

Does anyone else have a squeak that sounds like it's coming from the rear right of the cabin that has figured out what it is so I can tell it to shut the hell up? :mad0259:

Yeah, there's many, many, many postings on this forum about the clunk, clang, rattle coming from the area of the package shelf. You can do a search and read up all you want. I'm sure there are a few, but I don't know of any, of our cars that made it without having that problem. Your dealer should well be aware of it too.

>>> Rear Deck "popping/clicking/tapping/ticking" noise.

I know what you mean.. Mine is from the right rear, but it's not the popping sound.. It's like the plastic panels at certain RPM for me.. Having someone sit back there it's gone so its become hard to find seeing as I can't reach it then when someone is back there to locate it it doesn't make the noise.. I have to try and get a passenger In the front seat with it reclined and finding the sound..

Mine is not a rattle, or pop.. It's like a squeak like you say

I can sympathize because squeaks/rattles piss me off in a new car as well, but you can't buy a first year, value-priced, lightweight sports car and expect it to be quiet...

It's easy to tell yourself you'll be fine with the squeak when you're sitting at your computer consuming every bit of FR-S news you can find. It's another realization entirely when you're sitting in the car. ;)

Dittos. Plus with the low-profile tires and sporty suspension it's going to make an environment prone to rattles.

I suspect the long-term solution is sound-deadening mat.

Your noise might be this.
I've heard of people with this noise disappearing when someone sits in the rear seat.

All of the interior panels back there come off pretty easily, I recently did it to change my headliner. Instead of trying to find people to ride with you to find the sound, it may be easier to find the problem by taking off one panel at a time until the noise goes away.

I had something from the right rear and It turned out to be the wheel well cover - a screw was too loose. I can provide the paperwork about it if needed, but i was greatful they fixed it for me. it was obvious around 60+ mph
