CF driveshaft review

Due to requests here it is:

I have the cf driveshaft from PST, I bought from @Chris@Phastek along with other parts, I had it installed @flatfour because I get free install because they sponsored my BRZ. It's a super easy install and I seriously doubt you even need to lift the front to replace it if your skinny like me.

It's lite, retardo lite. I believe it's 8-12lbs difference, most site the bearing so rich@flatfour broke it apart and weighed the stock bearing, its 1.4 lbs.

Impressions, it's made shifting, power or cruise seem like butter, and since it loads up before letting go launches seem to break traction alot simpler, the car seems more eager to scarf down RPMs and when power shifting it gives off this very quiet honk, like if a car was being unlocked behind you.

To sum it up, I absolutely love it, and many of my subie friends that show up when ever I go to flatfour, have all bought different versions of the cf drive shaft for their cars, (1 forester XT, 1Leagcy GT, 2 WRXs and 1STI.)

And I'm sure if I got off the throttle the lower drive train weight would equal better MPG, but who are we kidding, I'm just waiting for my vortech to arrive.

I'll get pics from rich@flatfour I had this install done 2-3 months ago.

As for drive quality, the girlfriend can now drink her coffee when I'm shifting 2-3 3-4 4-3 or 3-2... She still can't do it off the line, but before the drive shaft she learned that when I take a sip that's when she could as well.

Oh and if your reading this, click below for the titanium single back exhaust, we need 4 more peeps, and if a light weight driveshaft interests you, you prolly want to at least look at a VERY VERY light weight exhaust.

Lol, I already sold the cat back.

I am making a custom lightweight exhaust system as we speak.

Here is what it looks like now with the wheels back on.

Can't wait for pictures. Definitely on my list. Are there any potential cons similar to a lightweight crank pulley?

Adeets 05-22-2013 04:00 PM

No pictures are coming he only took one from the front which shows more header/exhaust then the drive shaft. I don't really take pictures of installs I'm more "get it off the fucking lift so I can play"
