The Griffon concept shed 500 lbs with titanium exhaust and manifold, everything else is stock....and it is a beast on Tsukuba it beats ferrari 458.

Lately i hear rumors that Toyoda is commited to shed 200 lbs on the next 86. Also Subaru is commited to make the BRZ to have more power.

So...is anyone waiting for either one ? I heard their contract end on 2015. Then look like both are going different approaches.

If 2016 model has

1/ 200 lbs lighter FRS with TRD exhaust and manifold like the Griffon FRS

2/ 200 lbs heavier with turbo charge up to 275 hp and 275 lb/ft torque SUBARU

Which one will you buy ?

I'll keep my 2013 and do the same mods for cheaper. (if I wanted to shed that much weight) Plenty of aftermarket turbo/sc setups now.

I'm waiting until 2025 when the 86 will fly.

You'd need to do a lot more than change the entire exhaust to drop 500lbs... and it looks like they did.

There is nothing remotely stock about that concept.

And personally I'd take the turbo model if they offered it.
