Yellow Headlight Tint Illegal?
So I was researching whether or not I wanted to put the yellow Lamin-X headlight covers on my BRZ... and then I came across this.
Blue and yellow headlights. Headlights must be white - blue and yellow are illegal (24011 VC). Look for the DOT symbol on the bulb and package. Does this apply to the tint as well? Will the HID projection on my BRZ now come out as yellowish/whitish? Anyone know? |
here in jersey, they say white amber and yellow are whats allowed in the front and red and amber for the rear not including the reverse light... so there is a loop hole for us already..

I had the same question locally as well and asked a buddy of mine who is a lawyer and his response was this:
The laws are pertaining to the color light that is being emitted from the bulb. Headlight tints and films fall under tinting laws and the two are mutually exclusive. DOT symbol is referencing the bulbs used and the color density. Purple and reds will fall under these color categories as well, but only if they are the bulb |
In FL the light through whatever headlight lens it passes through MUST emit white. It varies state to state.

I used to have yellow back in the day on my Nissan. Cops never noticed I guess or they didn't bother me.
