Longest daily drive?

Hi guys,

Just wondered what others think about taking the 86 for a long drive and how far you have taken it so far.

I have just covered 1100km's (683 miles) in one day and found the car in general, and seats in particular, extremely comfortable over such a long distance, especially since I earlier this year I had a 3 level spinal fusion operation in my lower back! I am currently running a Visconti tune and while most of the journey was highway, I didn't baby it at all and still only used 6.1L per 100km or 38.5 US mpg, which I feel is stunning for such a great little car.

Overall I amazed how good a daily drive this car is wondered if others feel the same. :happyanim:

Drove from Chicago to Atlanta straight for Global Time Attack last weekend. 850+ miles, no issues.

I'm sure FT86 Speed Factory did more than that during 1 Lap of America.

Did about 700 miles in a day while back. Only real problem I had was resting my knee on the hard center console. It really needs a pad. For me at least. It may depend on your driving position.

I've done a few 1,000+ trips so far!

^This x 1,000,000. Had a L4-L5-S1 fusion 1-24-2011. My daily driver is a 2006 Impreza Wagon and my wife has a 2010 Forester Limited. While the heated seats in the Forester help, both the lack of support in those cars, along with the form of the seat, has made any extended trips in either car a painful chore. While I haven't driven the FR-S far in a single trip yet, the support I feel when I am driving it is light years better than either of my other vehicles.

Glad to hear it buddy and hope your back is good now. My op was in Feb this year and as you can see by the miles I am driving, it is going really well and better than I expected

I driven it from NJ to Florida and back. My neck hurt from the head rest hitting my head. The suspension is too stiff for long drives. I got 38mpg under 75mph, and 34mpg going 80+mph.
