Can't decide, is my idle problem or normal?

My FR-S 6MT has only about 350 miles on it. When it's in neutral and idling, I notice that sometimes the idle drops down a few hundred (to around 500RPM) then shoots back up again. It has never stalled and there are no engine lights coming on. Is this normal? If it isn't, what should I do? I know the dealer is going to give me a hard time if I bring it to service because the idle goes up and down occasionally.

My last question is, are these manual transmissions supposed to be so damn loud? Every time I put it into gear there is this clunk. It's as if the clutch just wants to be pushed down another inch so it can go into gear smoothly. I am however pushing it as far as I can. Same thing here, is this normal or should I talk to the dealer? Is there a fix?

Any help is appreciated

From day one my FR-S idles right around 750. It does not fluctuate.

As far as the transmission goes, you're either not giving your clutch enough time to do its job before you're shifting or you've got a problem. That is, at least, compared to mine. I have never had any kind of clunking when going into first gear and I've got over 9,000 miles on mine.

Is your A/C when that happens? If so, then mine does the same thing sometimes. It's only about once a month. Once I turn off the engine, then it goes away. To me, it's not normal.

Is that clunk only when you put it into the first gear? If so, then all manual cars I had did the same. To avoid this noise, I depress the clutch, wait for 2 seconds, and then put the gear into the first gear.

I haven't even paid attention as to whether or not the a/c is on when it happens. It was on today when it was happening. As far as the transmission, I'll press the clutch as far as it will go, and if I shift through the gears (still in neutral, not moving) it will clunk into first and second. I'll try and post a video at some point. I've driven plenty of manual cars and I've never experienced this. Everything from a 6 speed Audi TT to a corvette z06, and I even had a manual 2002 maxima SE.

The clunking is not an issue, there lots of threads about it already. This is the only manual car I have had that has done this. Shifting slower is the only way to keep it from doing it.

RPM dropping at idle isn't normal:

RPM dipping at idle with the A/C turned on is the compressor kicking in and normal. If it does it without the A/C turned on then it is possibly a problem.
