FT86CLUB Homepage Featured Story The body you see below was what used to be my pristine 1:10 scale RC FR-S. The issue is that I used the wrong paint so it all chipped away. From day one, I said what ever I do to the real thing, I'll do to my mini me. My new body will arrive tomorrow (technically today). I have switchbacks, the forth brake light, as well as a TRD replica spoiler (@THMotorsports) which will be her on 5/21. Pictures are worth a thousand words so here you go. What is this!? A car for ants! The real car needs to be at least 8 times this size!
-zoolander voice ;) Lots of creativity here! |

Thanks guys. This is what this body looked like before I realized that I used the wrong paint. The new one will have the same gun metal grey paint, but there will be a few layers of smoke over it to get the darkness closer to my Asphalt (Dark Grey Metallic for the BRZ heads). The turn signals will be exposed instead of cleared. I'll go all out with the stickers this time too.
I forgot about the side markers...hmmm. I guess I'll do those today. I also put down a third layer of filler on the underside of the spoiler. The top is pretty much complete. I'm still contemplating on whether or not I should make a mold from it. I painted the spoiler black to help bring out imperfections. After the paint sits for a few hours, I'll do some more sanding.

Is this for show or to be played with? If for show, use Velcro posts instead of the standard posts that stick out of body, won't need the 4 holes. Tamiya paint if you have it locally, ask for the Tamiya paint to paint a Tamiya 10scale body. Ask them how to match your car, I see you will need 3 cans of different shades - a mist of metallic gray should give you the pearl effect. Use the left over plastic from the body mold to use for a spoiler, frontal area has the stiffer plastic but the rear area has softer more plyable left over plastic. Lastly, is that the stock rear rims? May wanna go with the a + set to make it flush with the body. Sorry if I may have derailed your project. Looks good tho :)

Very cool!
I used to race around mini 1/18 scales when I was a teenager. Still have 2 of my old 1/10 scale nitros lying around. This makes me want to make a mini FR-S drifter, I've always wanted one of those to mess around with lol. Love the pic with the baby that was cute haha :) EDIT: Pretty cool, tamiya offers a RTR FR-S! http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDDJM&P=0 Not sure how good the R/C is built, for that money I'd just build it custom but pretty cool that its offered. |

The TT-01 they offer in the RTR is damn fine for a parking lot bruiser. Curious what the OP is using under that shell. Tamiya has sturdy factory parts for the average player. Can't go wrong with that kit. Unfortunately, Tamiya bodies are offsetted a lil different so using a less expensive non-tamiya chassis could be tricky. |
sometimes the talents that you find in this forum members make me speechless.

Definitely curious what chassis & motor/engine OP is running :) |
