Northwest Autosports Association - AutoX

Ok, after hyping up the autocross earlier today I realized I referenced the wrong association originally. Per the previous posting, the above referenced organization runs an AutoX and hill climbing series throughout Oregon and Washington. This weekend they are running an event at Astoria Airport. The course is just about .5 miles. Today there were only 12 cars running in both the morning and afternoon sessions. I know it sounds like I am exaggerating, but I literally got 46 runs in today for 45 bucks. The most impressive part is I did not have to work the course until I got tired of driving. Just in case anyone is interested in driving together from Portland / Vancouver area tomorrow morning I plan to leave around 6:15 am from Vancouver. The only caveat is the course is on an abandoned airstrip and the entire group racing in the morning or afternoon sessions must cross the airfield together at 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM. Also once inside there is no leaving.. If you are interested in going together leave a message below mine, lets plan to meet at the rest stop just off the I-5 north in Ridgefield at 6:30 then head out to Astoria! The group really wants to get the word out about their events take a look at their website if you have a moment.

If anyone had some spare time nor their hands this weekend June 15th. The above referenced link is the next AutoX event being host by the car club. This is the practice weekend prior to their event held in August. I would anticipate each person will get roughy 20-30 runs on the course. Packwood is not around the corner but based on the previous experience I anticipate this will be a blast. The drive is approximately 1:45... The event starts at 8:00 am and finishes at 4:00 pm Saturday. Reply if your interested in going.

From what I have heard from other AutoX people at SCCA and PCA events in Portland this is the best event venue. I should have posted it earlier, but I can say based on the past event in Astoria I anticipate getting 25 to 40 runs tomorrow.
