Manual FR-S test drive in Vancouver

Hey all,

Just getting ready to buy an FR-S, but I'd like to test drive the manual, and for some reason all the dealers in the greater Vancouver area I've tried so far (OpenRoad Port Moody and Regency on Kingsway) just have demo cars with automatic transmissions.

Can someone recommend who I should speak with to get a proper, highway test drive in a manual transmission car? ;)

Thanks!

Update: OpenRoad in Port Moody now has a standard transmission demo car, got a test drive booked. FYI for anyone else looking to test the manual transmission.

So OpenRoad got rid of their manual demo car before my test drive appointment. Can't blame them for selling vehicles, it's their job, but now I'm still looking for a test drive.

Just drive the auto, if you kinda like it get the manual, at least you kinda get a feel for the car...
And going hwy is pointless cause this car blows chunks once you get above 100 but is ridiculously awesome under 100kph feeding it with twisty roads

I'm going to Regency after work today, so we'll see what they say. If they don't have anything available I can try, I'd love to take a little spin in your car if you don't mind. I'm pretty much decided on buying the FR-S already, but I'd never buy something I haven't driven.

I did drive the auto and really liked it (for an auto), but I wanna make sure I like the clutch and gearbox feel on the standard before I plunk down the money.

As for the highway, it's mostly just so I can do some gear changes and get it up over 30. The problem with Regency's location is that there's no routes nearby where you can really get out of 2nd, so it doesn't tell you much about the car.

I've been talking to someone other than Eric, but if I'm not getting what I want I'll see if I can pull him in.

And yes, I can drive stick, learned to drive on late 70s / early 80s Volvos, they didn't even offer automatic transmissions. It's a big part of why I started looking at getting a new car, was getting too bored with my current automatic. ;)

Yeah, I'm sure if I'd already sold my current car I'd just go for it, but since I'm waiting for that car to sell anyway, I figure I might as well try to do as much pre-purchase research as possible.

Mr.Jay: Regency got me a test drive with a std transmission, so I'm good, but definitely appreciate your offer. They've been chasing my business a lot harder than OpenRoad (Port Moody) has, which seems to confirm comments others have made about the 2 dealerships.
