Crystal Eye tail lights installed

Thanks to JPxM0Dz and his great DYI video, they were very easy to install (the instructions that come with them are horrible). The only thing J's video did not detail, was how or where to mount the hyper blink resistors.

Really good quality lights. I wish pictures did them justice, especially when they are on...the output looks orange in pictures, but is completely red in person.

Here's to hoping there is no condensation!

Yea, the more I see these tail lights the more I like them. Especially the red ones.

Red really is killer on these cars!

Thanks guys! They look AWESOME at night, unfortunately pictures come out with way too much light exposure.

I got mine on eBay only because the vendor had amazing pricing to ship to Canada (that included brokerage fees...something I didn't want to deal with).

I like the all red look and the parking lights on these. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7282/8...ec21016f_b.jpg

do you need to install the resistor?

Burrcold 06-03-2013 10:21 PM

I had to or my turn signals hyper blinked. Super easy to install the resistors though.

Tails look awesome! btw the DIY video was not mine, I just posted it

As far as the resistors go, if you already swapped out your signal lights for some brighter SMD bulbs, then you probably already installed a relay that fixes hyper flashing. Therefore the resistors would not be needed. In my case, I already had the relay installed, however I installed the resistors anyway because I forgot about the relay already in place :bonk:
I mounted the resistors just below the tails on the backside metal frame using the provided 3M on the backside of the resistors.

The included resistors plug into the back of the crystal eye tail and have 3M attached, just plug them into the tail and stick them wherever

You can also fix hyper flashing by swapping out the stock relay found under the drivers side dash, just below steering column with an aftermarket relay

Here you go...

I love these tails! But I can't find any photos of them smoked. On the website they look super dark but here its not so bad.
My current car has smoked taillights (got it that way) and I hate it, people tailgate too much..so I can't depend on my blinkers :/
Anyway do you think you could take pictures of them outside in daylight, and maybe another shot with the blinker on?
It would help me out on deciding :D
