What made you switch? Do you think the trd intake is better?

I'm in for the TRD vs. GReddy comparison as well! Do you see any real difference between the two (except for CARB legality)?

Ok ill be brief as this is not the place to compare the two, but it should help people pick the right intake. Overall I like both. I wanted to try a manufacturer's performance intake and compare it with aftermarket one which i very much liked and had no issues with.

Quality- Greddy hands down. Better moulding of the plastic, hardware (clamps,MAF bolts), feel- plastic did not feel as "flexible".

Looks-Both look good in the engine bay. Greddy has the smaller airbox but retains the sound tube. TRD airbox is larger, looks stock, but the red looks good, matches the other red in the car, engine bay looks less cluttered without sound tube.

Install- Greddy recommends you to take half of the bumper off to remove the snorkel, but you do not need to take off the sound tube.
TRD install was easier but you do need to take off the sound tube-bolts were easy but the clips were not. Just dont drop the rubber grommet under the exhaust manifold!!

Sound- Greddy is louder, deeper esp at 3-4k under load. (even with the sound tube plugged) TRD sounds smoother, slightly louder than stock without the induction noise of the sound tube.

Filter- Greddy- dry washable cone filter, TRD- large flat oiled reusable filter like K&N, TRD has more surface area

Power- ?

Driving- Both "feel" good- Greddy has the growl and volume- I heard my engine better on the track, TRD makes the engine feel smoother, more responsive but it could be all in my mind!

BTW- it is still available, in the original box with instructions and stickers- ready to ship to a new home!
