Issues with my ecu when tuned
I would like to share my bizarre experience witg you guys. I took my car to get it tuned by an ecutek dealer first of alk the car ran a base dyno map with an astonishing 169 whp max power with a 3 inch full exhaust. I was so happy that with the ecutek tune I would be in 183whp+ (an assumption).
When the base map got tuned the car did the 1st tune run and I was shocked car dropped 13whp. 2nd run dropped 19whp and it kept going on until the dyno kept reading 145WHP!!! We have checked everything and I am sure that its a genuine ecu problem of limiting the power or something like that. Any members or tuners faced this issue my car is a 2013 march batch Brz. |
Same dyno, same day? Find a better tuner!

just because they have money to pay EcuTek does not mean they are a competent tuner. I hope you went back to the stock map and got a refund, or at least whatever map gave you 169whp. |
It's most definitely not the ECU fighting you, it's the tuner not able to do what they're claiming they can do.
Get it flashed back to stock and get your money back. |
3" on a NA is the worse thing car lost 15 hp and had to fight to get back to base line. Just saying you may be better of with a 2.5" or stock
|
@slowmo just saw in your sig. you have a turbo kit on the way that will make up but don't expect much with the NA and 3"

Same day same dyno. Im sure its not the tuner because a guy had some dyno pulls before me and made in the 180'swhp

He didnt charge a dime. The problem is even when I switched back to the stock map the car made low powee and was acting lazy.

I doubt that because the base run was with a 3 " exhaust and had an output of 169whp

This is what im facing although im runing 98ron fuel |
Try changing to a different type of fuel/gas station then go back to the dyno to see if the problem still exist if the type of fuel/fuel content is the issue.

Did you reset your ECU before you got your baseline dyno? If not, you may have to wait a while for the ECU to get used to the new tune. I think it's best to reset the ECU before each run if you're trying to do comparisons, no?
