Are Accessories Pure-Priced/What did you pay for factory spoiler?
Hey guys,
I'm a newbie here and I'm picking up my FR-S (asphalt) tomorrow! I'm beyond excited. I've kind of got my eye on the factory spoiler. When I asked my dealer what the price of adding the spoiler he quoted me $580. That number surprised me because on Scion's site it is $399. I've also found the $399 price on some other dealers' sites, but on my dealer's it's $549 for the spoiler. This brings me to the question: Are accessories pure price? Is the scion.com price the "installed" price? What am I missing here? Thanks guys! Love this site already! Can't wait to become part of the community! |
My rule of thumb is... Never pay a dime more than the MSRP.
Has served me well so far ;) If you buy the part from your dealer, they shouldn't charge you for the installation. I think the guys are just playing ya for a fool so give them a hell and bring the price down. My dealer at first tried to sell me the FRS at $40/month higher than the listed price from Scion website. I showed the website and the calculated cost to them and went straight to Hyundai dealership and I told them I'm going there too. 10 mins later they got back to me with a much better price haha. Hope this helps! |

The "factory" spoiler is a dealer installed option. I has one installed last month.
Spoiler $300.00 Template $55.20 (for drilling/installation) Labor $170.00 Tax $32.86 Total $558.06 That $399 price probably doesn't include the installation labor. |

Nice color!! I just bought mine last Saturday from Camelback Toyota in Phoenix, Az. They are having a special until the end of the month for $1000 off on all FR-S'. You can always negotiate pricing when making a car deal. I told them I wanted an asphalt with a spoiler, but they didn't have any so they added it to the deal for $399 with NO extra charge. They even matched my credit union's apr at 2.39%. :) I'm getting the spoiler installed later this week. |
I bought the spoiler with the car And it was 400 dollars for me. Crown toyota.

I paid $430 for my Five AD spoiler and installed myself. No drilling, easy peasy, and looks better/sharper and follows the lines of the car.

if seibon ever gets their ish together, I'm going to buy their cf trunk and use that. My car's already black, so it'll be an extra hundred or 2, adn I can just unbolt it haha

Pure price is a load of sh!t.
In my area I know the dealers are trying to scam people when it comes to installing items. The price for the part is the same but the install is where the dealers are getting people. I received quoted installed price sheets for the exact same items from two different local dealers. The installed prices were very very different. Exhaust at one dealer was >$200 higher, TRD CAI was >$100 higher, hell even the freaking shark fin antenna was $75 higher. I decided not to give Scion a dime extra of my money and bought a car bone stock (actually it had bespoke but I got them to discount the car negating the price of it) and do all accessories/upgrades/add-ons myself. |
I got my spoiler put on the day after I bought my FR-S from Jim White Scion in Toledo. Cost me $400, installed.

Welcome GD! Hey you may want to hold off on a dealer provided spoiler. There are a few really nice ones out there. 5Axis, TRD (nice) and Carsmo (my coin toss with TRD) just to name a few! God speed!
