External Hard Drive Hook Up

Is there any possible way to hook up an external hard drive to an FRS? i figured since theres a 12v accessory port in the glove compartment maybe there would be a way to rig one up to the deck at the back inputs possibly a
AUX - USB wired to the glove compartment then a 12v connector to plug into the portable external hard drive?

thoughts?

I know may people have done this with other head units, but I'm not sure of the compatibility with the FRS/BRZ OEM head units due to the HDD capacity. www.diymobileaudio.com has a boatload of info regarding what others have done with aftermarket gear.

yeah, ive heard a lot of the aftermarket scene getting pretty good results. was wondering what the limit and extent that the stock bespoke pioneer and brz pioneer head units can go.

In another thread someone hooked up a 320gb drive to the bespoke HU, although I'm not sure if it was the stock or the upgraded bespoke HU

I have an old WD traveler drive that plugs right into the factory USB slot. Plays files and everything. Navigating with the stock radio is garbage, but it'll play anything on it. No external power required for that model.
