Protecting ignition area from scratches

Is there an accessory available anywhere to protect the area around my ignition from scratches from my keys? I've seen most cars get severely scratched around the ignition area from other dangling keys and from missing the hole, which I am prone to.

You just need more practice putting it in the hole. I've practiced so much that I've become an expert penetrator. You just gotta shove it in the hole. And remember to pullout slowly. Don't wanna hurt the hole.

But seriously, don't think I've heard of anything to put around it. Maybe some padding with 3M tape backing cut to size could help?

Yeah maybe a little donut shaped clear vinyl?

Yeah I was thinking something like this might work. I want to make sure there's no residue when I peel something off.

Goo gone will work fine on the residue.

this is an awesome idea. i'll try to make something

I use 3M clear bathtub tape on my mountain bike frame and my RC cars. Works really well in protecting from scrapes and scratches, and doesn't leave any residue when you peel it off

I think a nice carbon fiber sticker piece that goes over it will look good

Easy, just get a push start
