Drifters?
I have seen a lot of people excited for this car. Was wondering if anyone was or is a person who likes to drift and what are their expectations and thoughts about the car so far?
|
I used to drift. My favourite dirft car was my slowest... A JDM AE86. I am VERY excited about this car. Can't wait to get one. Won't be doing any hard drifting in it though. Not for a while at least :P
Expectations - quick, punchy performance, but not balls out fast. responsive, direct handling. Easy to slide and easy to grip.. |
I've been curious about drifting (I'm D-curious I guess? :D)
Would the FR-S be considered a good starter car for drifting? |
What are the components required for a car to drift well?
|
I've been drifting since 99 when I was stationed in japan and have had several drift cars since. My favorite bing my old 93 S13 coupe. That was my first purpose built drift car. I expect this handle similarly with the dimensions and weight being close to one another. Obiously the S13 had some work done to it and a little bump in hp but still streetable. With the FR-S I probably wont push as hard. Maby some track days but no tandem with it, not for a while anyway.

Not that old but i got alot of practice in my friends MK3 supra. Now i use the miata. Hopefully this will be amazing. Just need to practice :)

There is clearly a lot more to it but if you want to just want to Hoon a bit that would be a good start. |
search Chris Harris GT86.

Yes, of course some cars are better than others, but if you haven't tried to drift before, and are planning to go all out D1 style, you better have something you are willing to replace body panels on. From my experiences in the mountains of Japan, that's a nightly occurance for the drivers up there. Regards, Paul Hansen www.avoturboworld.com www.facebook.com/BRZSportsCarClub |
Just be careful not to drift into the D dimension.

I also think a good seat, oil cooler and radiator are very important. Reliablitly is more fun than power ;) |
