Waiting a week and a half for a radio from the dealer
Like the title says, I bought my FR-S on Sunday the 5th, and I still have no radio. Most of their stock of FR-S' didn't have radios in them, just the paper/cardboard cover that shows the two types of radios available.
I told my salesman that he had until tomorrow to get one for me, but he said "it's not us, it's the manufacturers" which is typical. What can I do, if anything? I'm sick of riding around without a radio? |

The HD signal comes on and off frequently. Sometimes I just turn the music off and listen to the car. It's funner that way :burnrubber: |
If the radio isn't in the regional parts warehouse it has to come from Toyota's main warehouse in Ca which could take two weeks.
Your dealer didn't have another Scion on the lot with a radio installed they could put in your car..?? |

Well all the Scion models use the same radios just have them swap the radio out of one of the cars on the lot into your car 20 minutes max to do this. ;)
|
When I bought mine, took too months to get the radio, as it was on back order.
I complained to Scion Corp about how unacceptable it was to buy a car that could not even come off the dealer floor without something this basic. It got me no where of course. |
Lucky I think. Most of the dealers around me are sticking in the Bespoke system in all of the FRS's they get in so they can magically charge you $1000+ for that crap unit.
|
I just called them, relatively unhappy. They said they'd get back to me shortly. I'll let you know what they say.
|
Not to pour salt in the wound, but did they charge you for the radio? If they did, you can light a fire under the finance office and tell them the contract you signed had a radio included in the OTD price. Therefore, if you don't get your radio after a reasonable time frame, then you would like to redo your paperwork to reflect the absence of equipment and take that savings to buy a better radio.
Personally, I begged my salesman to take out the BeSpoke radio since the only music I cared to listen to was coming from the engine. I even told him that I would take a stock radio from the other FRS's on the lot; but his manager wouldn't budge. Needless to say, I didn't listen to the radio until almost 3 weeks after I brought the car home. @Enraged21 I feel I drive with the radio off and windows down most of the time in this car especially with the weather lately in Florida! |

I know! It gets really beautiful this time of year |
FRS/BRZ is one of the best business car sale I ever seen like hot cake, so blame all sale men for rush sale and commission even if its missing some parts. That's what I see. LOL :)
|
I know it's of little consolation, but when the stereo in my S2000 broke it took 2 weeks to have the dealership fix it. So I would say this isn't out of the ordinary.
Do you have an aftermarket exhaust already? I'm a bit confused by the people saying the engine sounds good?:iono: |

That sucks about the radio, I would be really upset since I almost always have the radio on. I got tired of the amber coloring on the stock radio so I am upgrading my unit this weekend. |
