2013 FT86CUP *bonus round* Streets of Willow Springs, 5/26/2013

Introduction thread here[/I]

This bonus round of the 2013 FT86 Cup will be held at the Streets of Willow Springs. SoWS is a 1.8 mile technical course, challenging the handling limits of cars, and is frequently featured on Motor Trend's comparison videos, and also hosts several magazine competitions a year, including Import Tuner's FR challenge, as well as European Car's Euro Car shootout.

http://www.nsxfiles.com/images9b/sows_2009_Map.jpg

As always, the FT86 Cup is geared toward the grassroots drivers, encouraging both veterans and beginners alike to come enjoy a day at the track.

Signups are available at www.extremespeedtrackevents.com with coupon code "FT86CUP". This will bring the event price down to $90, and includes timing and a lunch credit!

Please give a shout out to Berk Technology, who has signed on as our title sponsor. They will be giving out prizes throughout the year!
@CounterSpace Garage and @robispec will both be present to give suspension tuning tips, demonstrations of the FR-S and BRZ's capability, and ride-alongs!

Buy me a plane ticket!

Sonolin 05-14-2013 07:18 PM

Wish I had the money to go to that track already!!! We're moving next month so funds are a bit tight.

Is this $90 total??? I've never been to the track before, would I be required to attend some class or something before that date if I wanted to go? $90 is pretty cheap for a track day

Yes, $90 total.

There's a beginner group, that will include some basic classroom instruction, a lead-follow session, and instructors available to guide you through the basics.

Plus $10 I think to get you in the gate (I'd recommend bringing cash). But it is absolutely worth it.

Shop that installed the five axis kit is remedying the issue byremoving and repainting the panels for me. Paint may not be fully cured so I'll be taking a different car :mad0259:

Just the 26th for the FT86 Cup event.

xero404 05-20-2013 07:48 PM

so cheap and SOW is pretty forgiving for a beginner, IIRC for the CCW config i only had to brake 2-3 times in the NB miata. Have fun and good luck to all, unfortunately i'll be there the day before at the just drift clinic :).

robispec 05-20-2013 08:40 PM

So what dirrction we running?

ImperiousRex 05-20-2013 08:42 PM

The Extreme Speed site says it's CW on the 26th.

Touge86 05-20-2013 11:11 PM

Would anyone there be willing to assist me in installing some new brake pads before we hit the track? Don't want to do it for the first time by myself. =/

Home depot. It'll cost like 5 bucks and if you bring the tube/fluid with you to the track, I'll help you bleed it.

I will likely have a lot of free time throughout the day. Worse comes to worst, I'll show up in the Subaru Outback I'm currently driving... (No I won't take it on track... although I would if it weren't a loaner car)
