Rattling Noise on acceleration
 

Hi Guys

Really need some help as Toyota cant help at them moment.

Upon acceleration between 2500rpm and 4500rpm i am getting a faint rattling noise.

Almost sounds like its coming from the exhaust. Its so faint that Toyota cant hear it therefore can not diagnose it.

I drive the car daily so know its there.

The weirdest thing though which leads me to believe that it engine/exhaust related is when i get to the coast it get extremely loud so much so it drones out the exhaust tone.

Any ideas?

hmmm...maybe you should get a GoPro and record it.

I think I have the same thing, but I have the TRD high response muffler. It varies where it happens, but typically under acceleration and only from 2500rpm up.

I've been waiting on some parts and haven't bothered to find the cause, but once things settle I definitely want to find it. If you don't have the high response muffler it may be a different part of the exhaust from the muffler...
