Big Favor

Hi there,

Short story. Anniversary of my girlfriend in Orange County. I'm visiting from San Jose. This weekend. I'm asking for some help where can I take my girlfriend out on a scenic drive. Places to that may or may not surprise her. And a "Great" place to eat (Choices of food. We're not picky!). I appreciate the help!!

Regards,

Anthony

Ortega Highway, Big Bear, Idyllwild, Highway 101 in San Diego County. Depends on how far and for how long you want to drive.

Around orange county i frequented Santiago Canyon \ Silverado Canyon. If you go up north OC towards Chino hills Carbon Canyon is not too far and has a nice hairpin. If you wanna do some ricer canyon driving GMR is the spot but be prepared to deal with some civic kids. I saw a bear there once lol.

Farther out theres Angeles Crest HWY 2 where alot of socal people run canyon drives and has alot of forest terrain to look at.

In the LA area Malibu would be the prettiest cruise where you'll find alot of supercars speeding along. Where the most famous would probably be Mulholland Highway but theres a pretty big bike scene so please no crossing the double yellows there.

But by far the most scenic but not so curvy would be PCH to neptunes net. Could be congested in the afternoon from traffic so prepare to go in the middle of the day.

for food, i recommend this all you can eat place called gen which serves korean bbq. there's one in huntington beach and tustin. it seems like everyone on the forums takes quite a liking to that.

PCH is always a good cruise, nice windy roads, beautiful scenery, plenty of romantic places to eat...but depending on the time traffic can be a pain...

If you're doing breakfast, head down to ortega highway and take it until you get to the lookout. Beautiful road and great food.

A good date places for dinner in OC are Il Garage in stanton (you eat great italian food in an old garage, it's awesome)

Angeles Crest is a good drive as well but I don't have any good food recommendations.

Morning. I appreciate the help! I'm trying to plan out the events as for driving goes if it gets me to a romantic spot or perhaps a beautiful view to stop and hang that's fine there. Keep it coming! I must go for Jury duty :bonk: Peace

Go to Angels Knoll for a nice look out. Girls love this spot because it was the featured location in the bench look out scene in 500 Days of Summer. I think that's right in little Tokyo too so tons of good eats.

Again, Thank you everyone, I have one more question what are the best times to drive without traffic? I'm not exactly sure if it's the same here in San Jose or not. I know times around 7am - 9amish then 4:00PM 6:30pm traffic is happaning on 880. 280. 101.

I appreciate the help. This will help me plan out an event for her. I hope she be satisfied if not I guess I'll kidnap her for a road trip back to San Jose muahahahah. hahaha

Best Regards,

Anthony

If you decide to drive down PCH, you could check out Balboa Island. Neat little town with cool places to eat and shop:

But someone also mentioned The Lookout up Ortega Hwy...that's cool too!
