Injen Intake

This past weekend I installed the Injen Short Ram intake, install was very quick and simple. The problem I have is the performance, I feel like its not what I expected and surprisingly it seems to have more power with the stock intake. It sounds great but that's about it. Is this a known issue? Maybe I need to get my car re-tuned? Or maybe its because I have nothing else done to the car? Let me know your thoughts, thanks guys.

Yes, by design the Injen is a hot air intake and if you search (example 1 , example 2 , example 3 ) you'll find many users of the Injen experiencing bogging and sluggish response and even CEL's for a lean condition when driving on the street. The open faced design with the filter exposed means all the trapped heat that rises up off the header when idling gets the filter heat soaked very easily.

You can either buy a true CAI, fix your Injen, or just put a drop-in filter in the stock intake and call it a day.

I never had any issues with mine when I had it, and never felt like there was a loss in power either. To get the most out of it you will need a tune though, and if you experience any bogging issues or if the idle keeps dropping almost like the car wants to die and sometimes it may, a tune will fix those problems as well.
