big black plastic retainer

i'm talking about the bumper piece that sits at the top of the grill on the BRZ. I noticed recently that the FRS/86 has a similar setup, the only difference being the plastic sits behind the grill. while I quite like the design of the BRZ overall this particular feature tends to throw my eye off when looking at it. I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue and who would be interested in designing or buying a different grill to fix that??

I thought on the FRS, there is no plastic piece. The thing behind the grill is the actual Metal Crash Beam, isn't it? The BRZ's plastic piece covers that up.

The FR-S grill is also blocked off over the metal bumper as well, it's just less obvious.

Not sure we needed another thread about this though lol

i hate it and i hate how mouth like mazda it is. I like the design of the sides though its elegant and more reserved but the mazda mouth middle thing gots to go.

Assuming it's possible, I plan to buy a BRZ and swap in the FRS front bumper. I won't be rushing to buy so I'll let you monkeys figure out what's possible and not.

I reckon that the aftermarket will offer alternatives. I would fancy a net like grille.

I would also change the fenders, the rear diffuser and hopefully some all red tail lights will be available

I hated the look of the Subaru bumper. However with the license plate mount in the front it's not really a big deal at all. I went to a Subaru Dealership today and got a brochure for the BRZ and the bumper actually looks decent in the pictures with the BRZ front plate on.

I think if the Subaru piece was body color matched it would look good. I'm sure would could make up a few cans of paint match for the more common colors. This would be the cheapest/easiest fix(compared to buying and FRS bumper).

Notice you are in Canada but didn't realize dealers had the brochures already.

BlueBatmobile overlays. Any other overlays. Krylon spray paint (WRX guys been doing it since 2008).

If one of the photoshop geniuses can replace the entire front air intake (including the smilie) with black mesh, replace the fog lights with similar mesh (brake ducts behind) and vent air in front of the bonnet like this:

Then that's pretty much what my car will end up like.
