Just saying what do u guys think?? should i buy new tags and say f it:sigh:

kanundrum 05-13-2013 02:25 PM

Bit confused for the Tag, I know you mean a Bad as in badass or a good kind of bad FRS but it also sounds like your FRS is bad

Why don't you extend your right arm palm open and facing down slightly above head level.

Some people are just...:bonk:

Print some flyers to carry around

But don't tread on me is inherently for nature conversation and such? why are people getting mad? do most people not know this and therefore considered knobs?

The easiest and simplest way of explaing dont tread on me is Im Proud to be American and no one fucks with us... but theres a lot of symbolism attached to it which I recently found out

This is one of those things that the meaning changes based on where you are coming from.

WARNING: EDUCATION AHEAD

ORIGINALLY, this was a flag and symbol adopted by the colonies during the days before, during, and after the revolutionary war. Ben Franklin was credited with the idea of the severed rattlesnake political cartoon during the revolutionary era:

Basically, Franklin was trying to illustrated that the colonies, whose motives were fairly scattered and motivation lacking, needed to unite in order to fight off the British occupation and form their own country. The rattlesnake was chosen because it was, at the time (as far as I remember) uniquely American and native to the North American Continent.

Later, the symbolism was adopted into the "Gadsden" Flag during the war.

Note the 13 rattles on the tail, representing the 13 Colonies/States. It was a popular banner that was used across the fledgeling States.

Nowadays, its use has been associated mostly with groups, such as the Tea Party, who feel like their rights are being "tread" on. Also, there are southern groups who used it during the Civil War (hence the racist/slavery angle, although I can't confirm this).

There's alot of good info on Wikipedia [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadsden_Flag"]Gadsden flag - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame].

To the OP: If someone assumes you are part of some group or another because you have this as a plate, you can probably assume they don't know our country's history. Ask them, nicely, if they know the origin of this flag, and tell them you are as red-blooded of an American as any of us, and that you are proud to display a symbol of the early USA. :D

Thanks for the warning @HunterGreene. I almost learned something. :)

Anyway, I think some people need to just sftu and stop getting so caught up with Republicans vs Democrats. I'm so sick and tired of hearing stupid little remarks on whom did what.

Okay moving on.. so I just got done glancing at your plate, I see no offense anywhere at all. It seemed miss leading at first that the plate is stating that your "frs is bad" or something of that nature. But you already clarified that @Umairk89. So
