weird pulsing while stopped

Hello Everyone. Just a warning that I know nothing about the mechanics of a car. I have a A/T FRS and I have noticed that sometimes (usually right after turning it on) when I am stopped/idling, the engine pulses and sort of vibrates the car. its just enough to be annoying because of the sound, kind of like driving with 1 window open and it messes with your ears.

I am not sure how to describe it better. I might try to record it if i can but its not all the time.

Anyone have similar problem, or know what it could be?

Thanks.

Is your engine cold when this happens? If this is the case, than I think it's the engine performing the warm up cycle which increases the rpm. Just let it idle for 30 seconds to a min and you'll see the rpms drop, than put your car in drive and it should be better. But I do know what your referring too, my buddies STi is more noticeable than our cars.

I may have this issue too, it started around 3500 miles. I am thinking of taking it to the dealer next week to get it checked out... though I have been told that this isn't really a problem (?)

Did you take a look under the hood? Is there a pulley (tensioner) that's shaking violently?
