Moving to Northern Ontario, Only 91 Octane available
FRS... She needs PREMIUM :burnrubber:
I know the it is recommended that I use 93 or higher octane grade, but Thunder Bay Ontario, where I got a job offer from, does not have anything better than 91 Octane. Does anybody have any insight if the power loss from using a lower grade fuel will be noticeable? Anybody tried running dyno using 91 octane? I think I am stuck with no options but to use 91 Octane... does anyone know which gas station I should fill up from? I did a little research and it seems like people recommend Shell because it's 91 Octane with no additives. Any advices or insights are appreciated. Thanks! |
here in colorado, the best choice we have is 91 and none of our members feel it hurt anything. Our cars still run great.
good luck on your new job :D |
we only have 91 octane too in california. you're fine
|
Whew I'm relieved to hear that!
Thanks guys haha |
I was running petro canada 94 they ran out. Switched to shell 91. I have not noticed any lack of power
|
91 is all thats in california too, as stated above. expect your crickets to get louder tho.
|
91 should be fine. However, if you really want you can go with meth injection.

If you can find 91 no ethanol I would go that route. Have been happy with it. No crickets. If I have to use the mix I do hear the chirps.

I only use Shell 91 anyway, Ultra 94 is terrible for gas mileage and crickets.
|
Avoid Shell, I've had a lot of problems with it. Mobil is what I go with now.
91 is not going to hurt the car. |
I'm running 91 from Sams Club =X
|
been using 91 chevron/mobile since I got the car, had bout 4 fuel up now...... and well... now I got crickets under my engine since 1k
