Anybody done this swap??.… need advice thanks

I just got the JDM 86 climate control . But the guy didn't give me the harness , there's actually only like 2 plugs behind the climate control . I was wondering if anyone did this mod to their frs and if it'll just plug right in

Need help thanks

I think I remember someone checking before and the wiring is very different and would require the harness.

Omg do a DIY plzzzz

There's more involved than just the harness. Vent and heater controls are mechanical on the FR-S and electronic on the GT86 I believe.

Yeah the bumper swap would be way easier than all those ac electrical stuff hahaha

Once the edition 10 FRS drops, that should help you with getting info from Toyota.
However, you could look at the BRZ Limited diagrams now.

as far as i know, no one has done this swap properly yet and if they have, they sure havent posted up how to do it. If you take the plunge and get it figured out, make sure to share with everyone as i know theres quite a few people that want to do it! (myself included)

as mentioned earlier in this thread, the release series fr-s is supposed to have this equipped, so maybe once they are available, there will be more information on this

hes gona need to rewire body harness dash harness and couple of sensors and linkages for the auto climate to work its honestly alot of work its prob better to buy the whole interior/dash/bay harness from subaru so its just a swap and possibly new ECU

I want to do this so if anyone has any info about it please let us know.

Just ask someone with access to the Toyota parts database to give you a list of what differs between the BASE and HI models with regards to the ventilation system. That'll give you an idea of what's required. Wouldn't surprised me if there's a separate control module too.

When I inquired about it I compared the two BRZ trims then cross referenced the FRS. Everything was the same other than module and wiring harness. We couldn't find any differences in the vents or a/c parts.
