Accelerated Performance's Fuel System Fix for the BRZ/FRS/GT86

It's about time we start a thread that discusses the fuel system in these cars.

The most common upgrade right now is a upgraded in-tank fuel pump and port injectors.

This will safely allow you to go beyond the 250WHP mark without over taxing your Direct Injection pump.

Thought you were good to go.. right? Looks like we were wrong !

We have a internal fuel tank issue! The gas tank has a hump in the middle of it and when the gas goes below half we are experiencing fuel starvation issues at the factory sending unit. Fuel from the passenger side of the gas tank is not flowing at a high enough rate to the drivers side !! Whether you know it or not this is effecting everyone that's forced induction !

The next issue that needs to be fixed is the amount of fuel flow we get from the back of the car to the front of the car - there simply isn't enough to support high horsepower on pumpgas let alone ethanol.

During the very early stages of building the Accelerated Performance BRZ-750 Kit Don spent a considerable amount of time doing flow testing and crunching numbers.

The end result was having to redo everything except the fuel rails - (The Factory Fuel Rails are awesome !)

Don's solution turns the return-less fuel system into a return style and makes the single in tank setup a triple pump configuration!

Some wiring needs to be ran including a new return fuel line.

The size of the factory sending unit allows for a very clean install ;)

I'm sure Don will chime in

Unfortunately the only way to effectively fix the issue also has a side effect of more flow.

With the OE setup there are some issues around half a tank with starvation under mild to moderate turning.

The updates to the fuel system allow me to chose where the gas flow returns to and how much of it ends up where.

A critical function is where it returns to. We need to adequately reimburse the fuel sender with fuel and at the same time maintain a proper level of fuel in both the primary and secondary side.
