Innovate Motorsports FR-S/BRZ traction control state modifier module...

Greetings all, we are currently testing a product that changes the default start up state of the traction control system on your FR-S/BRZ/86. This product is intended for off road use only. In an effort to gauge interest, I have posted an installation write up and a video of the device in use. The projected MSRP would be between $100 and $200 if we brought it to market.

This is more then a delay box. By interfacing with cam sensor signal/power leads via a plug and play connector, the device issues the TC off signal only when the engine is running, (by monitoring the pulses off of the sensor) making sure that it always activates properly without any chance of missing a power interrupted delay/timer.

Installation:

I mounted the potted module with dual lock near the battery, allowing me to route the single lead to the TC switch, and the plug and play cam sensor intercept to the front passenger side of the engine.

This is what you're doing instead of releasing that supercharger?

Cool, looks like a great little module for those who frequent the track! Here is hoping for a price closer to that $100 mark.

This has nothing to do with their supercharger lets try and keep this on topic and not derail right off the bat.

Have you dynoed the car with this new traction control module?

:D Negative, but I have driven the car for several days with the module installed and there have not been any noticeable negative effects to vehicle performance.

This device may also be of benefit for those who are running some form of forced induction and engage the traction control and stability control more often then they would in a stock vehicle.

looks great. What bugs me is have to push and hold the button. Why cant I just get a toggle switch.

On another note if you could make a box to simulate the "pedal dance" that would be epic

DriftEightSix 05-10-2013 05:56 PM

Is there anyway to make the module send the "pedal dance" command?

DriftEightSix 05-10-2013 05:57 PM

Oops I was typing when he was posting

It is possible, but it would be pricey due to the more involved development and more invasive installation due to the additional processing and sensor inputs required. It is not something we are likely delve into. We wanted to focus on something easily reversible and as PnP as possible to make the car more enjoyable for driving enthusiasts. I am one of those "hold down the button every time" types myself. :D

Was this all referring to the first part of the quote?

What about the pedal dance feature, I'm sure everyone wouldn't mind paying extra so they Dont have to remember the sequence.

I don't think the extra cost would be that much but a lot of people would be turned off by the extra wire splicing I think.

Now what about a pedal dance module...

continuecrushing 05-12-2013 12:42 AM

Looks good, but another vote for pedal dance box...
