USAA Names 2013 Best Value Vehicles

https://content.usaa.com/mcontent/st...d=2227991507_pThe Scion FR-S is new to the "Best Value" list. In addition to earning a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in 2013, the FR-S offers superior fuel economy and resale value.

you can determine resale value after 1 year?

btw: how's insurance for this car vs other cars?

Future estimates are just that, estimates. But you can certainly look at the market and see retained value in the used ones for sale.

Obviously insurance is going to differ based on age, sex, location, and history, but the quote I was given by my agent was not much more than I already pay for insurance on an 07 Camry.

I actually saved quite a bit over a 2008 tacoma worth 10k lol

Leasing companies estimate resale value on Day 1 of any issue and call it residual value to determine rates.

I was surprised that my insurance company used the econobox class when rating FR-S rates, no sports car premium.

OP, why would you post a snippet without the original article?

I'm really looking forward to using USAA.

That's a question nearly impossible to answer because of the hundreds if not thousands of variables the insurance companies use.

But I can tell you that it is definitely cheaper than a Civic Si, and should be for anyone. After a few years, we'll have a better look. Depends how many get stolen or wrecked...which both are very high on the Civic Si side.
