Let's hope the STI ends up being more different than lesser models. A CF hood and roof, and a plastic spoiler and lip is not enough to make it the extreme version of the car. I love the WRX STI because of it's extreme styling

What happen to the other pics, i guess the strip down model will have few different controls

The STI model is nice with all the cf bits (hope so) & 4piston calipers

It's a shame they are not offering the low spec here in US :(

Is that 100% confirmed?

I just want them to offer the steelies at least. A lot of people are going to be changing out the wheels on this car, it would make alot of people happy.

I will be buying the lowest level brz with the nicest interior i can afford, if the scion way undercuts its price i will be swapping in the niver pieces.

that white picture is drool worthy. I love how you cant see the 'stach. I wish it was just open across the front.

Well we are getting the Toyota variant as Scion which is monospec. The BRZ brochure was posted and it only contains Limited and Premium. So all the information points to no low spec for US, but short answer is no it is not 100% confirmed.

Pretty sure the exact same hood on this STI won't make it to production based on what I read in a Speedhunters article:

...you can lift it up with a finger but if I had to make a guess I'd say it would be far too expensive to be used on the final version of the car. It's built to very high standards and is as beautiful outside...

...as it is on the underside. No FRP understructure here, it's all top grade dry carbon.

I don't give a crap about CF. It's not going to reduce weight by 100lbs or anything. I just want STI to have more power to differentiate itself. Maybe wider front fenders?

serialk11r 02-06-2012 04:37 AM

I keep forgetting if the roof of this car comes as a lightweight material stock...does it? If it's not, GFRP roof please, no carbon to jack up the price.

86design 02-06-2012 04:38 AM

Mmmmmmm steelies!!!

switchlanez 02-06-2012 04:45 AM

If they do put carbon bits (and spoiler), I prefer it to be painted. I heard carbon yellows over time. But before they even do that, they better tweak the engine + reinforce the chassis (maybe with reinforcement welds at key chassis flex points like what was done in the TRD Celica Sports M or Nizmo 350Z).
