Intake and ecu flash question
I'm pretty new to the whole tuning and upgrades to my car but am really wanting to do things to my car. My question it what is different between then stock intake and aftermarket cool air intake. If it all uses the same port, then how does it make it cooler except just allows more air in through e intake.
Second question, I saw on eBay a flash that plugs into the computer port and adds about 30 horse power, 30 torque, and 3 mpg's...then when you unplug it, it goes back to its original settings untraceable to the dealer so they don't know you altered it. All for $100!!! Is is too good to be true? Now I can't find it anymore, please help. |
100 bucks for 30 HP? Nah that seems right.
...Keep away from stuff like that my friend. |
the flash sounds like its too good to be true, I wouldnt trust it.

The benefits you would get from an aftermarket cold air intake is simply more airflow with the cooler air and a smooth airflow that is less restrictive than the oem box. They do provide the best gains, but people have been saying that a drop in filter is the best bang for your buck. If you want maximum power, buy the intake(BUT DO YOUR HOMEWORK), if you want extra power without emptying your wallet, get a drop in filter like K&N.

If your gonna get a CAI get a tune, if you are not gonna get a tune get a drop in filter.
