Rooftop Meet at Mohegan Sun!
Saturday June 22nd
7:00PM, Thames Garage

Come out for a night of cars, food, fun, and games at Mohegan Sun. We'll be at Thames Garage for photos and meeting, then head inside after a while to have a good time. This type of event has been a success in the past, let's do it again!

Please feel free to CROSSPOST this on other forums, all makes and models of cars welcome. But of course, we want to have more Subarus than anything!

Please donate to cover the security fee, we're asking 3$ but you get a six speed mafia sticker if you donate 5$

I live right up the street. This would be great if the numbers work out and it's OK for us to attend. @sklimo is right, earliest would be best if it's OK! Great venue too, could be a great meet.

Don't worry, we're definitely working Mohegan for approval. Just need to get a feeling for headcount! We'd love to see some sick FRS/BRZ twins there!

As an update, Mohegan Sun has officially given this event permission to happen, there will be no issues with security. However, due to the large turnout expected (already at well over 200 cars), there is the high probability that we will be asked to congregate in the Winter Lot, which is adjacent to the winter garage. That we we can all stay together as a group, and set up tables for vendors if anyone is interested in that.

There's something about all the FT86 club meets that I'm always busy on the days we have something :(

This would be fine, nice place to meet with plenty of room. Hoping for decent weather, it hasn't been too good here lately.

There is a big Home Depot and Stop & Shop Shopping Center right off Interstate 395. Huge, very open lot on Route 32 right down the road from the Casino. There are places to eat and bathrooms (Chili's, Pizza, Subway, etc.). I'll provide directions later this week if that's acceptable.

Nice thing is we could easily get all the cars together for a photoshoot. This lot is huge and large sections are never used.

Good news! Mohegan has given us their Thames Garage to use, so we are back in a garage! They will be running surface shuttles for us and will have security on site for our cars. The Thames Garage is the overflow parking that you see when coming off of Route 2. There will be a small security charge, so we are asking that donations of any amount are made to help cover that cost. Even one dollar a car will help. Event details are updated on the Facebook page. Over 300 attendees confirmed so far

I was absolutely planning on attending this with my cousin in his new WRX or my buddy in his M3 but they're both unavailable so now I'm on the fence.

Depending on how this week's schedule at work shapes up I may be driving home from Maine on Saturday morning. I'd like to take my time doing so and hit up the Kancamagus highway.

I'll have to make this a last minute judgement call....

Weather looks really good so far and not sure how many here are still interested because this is a tough weekend with two big meets at roughly the same time, Boston Strong and this one. For me, Mohegan Sun is a no-brainer, I live just a few miles away.

I propose that anyone who is going to attend just the Mohegan Sun meet gather before the meet so we can go in as a group. The below location, about 5 minutes from the casino, should be perfect for a pre-meet.

I will be there at 6:00 PM myself and anyone / everyone else is welcome to join me there. The meet starts at 7:00 PM and I plan on leaving for the meet at about 6:30 PM.

If anyone wants to let me know they’re coming, that would be great.

Directions:

Interstate 395 North or South

Take Exit 79-A (Route 2-A, Mohegan Sun) off Interstate 395 North or South

Once on Route 2-A, take first exit, Exit 1

At the traffic lights at the end of the off ramp, take a right onto Route 32

Stay in right lane and take a right at next light into Montville Commons Shopping Center

Proceed into the shopping center, Home Depot lot is on the right. Lot is huge, plenty of room to line up the cars.

When we leave to go to the meet, exit the shopping center where we came in.

Turn left onto Route 32 and cross immediately all the way across Route 32 to the right.

Turn right, back onto Route 2-A East.

Take next exit, Exit 2, Mohegan Sun Boulevard

Access road to the Thames Garage is the first right off Mohegan Sun Boulevard.

PLEASE READ: Mohegan will be running shuttles to and from the casino for us between 7PM and 1AM, every 15 minutes. There will also be security on site to make sure our cars are safe for the night. There are fees to cover these services, so we're asking for a 3$ donation per car to cover these costs and make sure we can do this in the future. We were not planning on charging any money for this event, but the reality of the amount of people and venue made it necessary. For anyone who donates 5$, we will give you a Six Speed Mafia vinyl in your choice of white, silver, or black. (we're selling them for 5$ on Saturday, so it's our way of giving everyone a deal.) We hope this does not deter anyone from coming, hope to see you all on Saturday.

Can I just donate at the door or place? Its not a online donation right?

Not sure how many will be meeting at Home Depot first. I'm not keeping track. I live close by so figured I'd mention it as a meeting place for those who wanted to as I'm going to be there anyway. I know others are coming later so they won't be there when we are.
