Subaru Impreza to be built at Indiana Plant starting 2016
Just ran across an interesting article regarding Subaru investing in $400 million in expanding their Indiana Plant, where the Legacy and Outback are currently built. The expansion is paving the way for one of their marque cars to be built on American soil, the Impreza. I figured it may be an interesting read for others on this forum also.

Impreza will move here because the WRX will become its own model here shortly, so the boring base impreza's can now be built by boring midwesterners. :)

Building them in the US makes sense. It goes a long way in solving the current dollar-Yen exchange rate issue which is hurting Japanese sales in this country. Remember the FR-S was supposed to cost close to $20K but came in at $25K (Toyota blamed the increase on the exchange rate).

That plant is an hour away from where I live. It's pretty cool. I'd almost like to work there. :D
