This probably wouldn't be a bad sticky.

For the 16 year olds...

My dealer obviously doesn't know the laws...I went down for an oil change and the service writer told me that since I have hi flow cats in place of OEM cat that they would deny warranty work. I didn't get into an argument with him at the time as I wasn't there to have warranty work done but you better believe I'll come prepared if that's the case.

The high oil temps and lack of an oil cooler concern me living in south Florida. I expressed my concerns to them and it fell on deaf ears. I occasionally have a rough idle as others have experienced but so far nothing more serious than that. I hope it stays that way cause the car is paid off and I was planning on keeping it in my collection for many years to come.

Who continually ask silly stuff like "OMG will changing my shift knob void my warranty?!?11!!?"

I guess how useful the sticky would be is whether or not they'll ACTUALLY LOOK before asking the question...

Am I faulty for placing hope in humanity?? :(

I sometimes don't want to live on this planet anymore.

It may be a dumb question but is it possible to ask a (my) dealership to tune the car so it idles higher than 650 RPM? I don't even know how to propose the question, so that was my best shot. Thanks in advance.

I think the OP is proposing the question for others who have it (read the title of the thread) and he then provides the answers through the links he posted.

The fact of the matter is the burden of proof comes down on the dealer. They have to prove that an aftermarket part was the cause of damage or failure.

Find a good dealer, a lot of places sell aftermarket parts - stick with those. If a dealer gives you a hard time, go to another.

Toyota designed this car for a certain type of person, they know the intention was not to be a commuter car. There is also a line of factory backed parts, so they expect people to modify things.

Hence why I said it should be a sticky: at least it'll always be at the top of the forum. *crosses fingers*
