We will be putting in and tuning a Cosworth engine, turbocharging it, and working on other bits and pieces. This is the standard front crossmember that we will be modifying to fit the Cosworth engine. This work is starting from next Tuesday!" so im sure we will be getting lots of pictures oof this build starting Tuesday :happyanim:....lets try to dump all the info and pictures in this thread FT86 Cosworth Engine Ok guys here are the first pics of the FT86 Cosworth Engine from Avo TurboWorlds Facebook Page http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7162/6...47005ede_b.jpg 429509_361459263872738_170708089614524_1389828_178 846822_n by jeremyvelliott, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7145/6...1331b80b_b.jpg 425706_361459393872725_170708089614524_1389829_121 0349922_n by jeremyvelliott, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7018/6...aef7a159_b.jpg 424158_361459450539386_170708089614524_1389830_251 313694_n by jeremyvelliott, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7027/6...03d6a8fb_b.jpg 409377_361459527206045_170708089614524_1389831_967 851524_n by jeremyvelliott, on Flickr |
if that's the stock front cross member then i am impressed, seems to be much more compact compared to subaru.
also, as i said in another thread, with the dry-sump installed (as seen in the photo) the engine can technically sit another 3 inches lower than OEM.. the problem comes in with the headers though. :( maybe they should have designed the exhaust ports to be angled so that the ehxaust piping can start out at an angle and therfefore not have too hard of a bend.. hmmm |
It's a standard crossmember, but won't be for long!

I believe they are aiming at a 600-700hp build, torque intensive. Ross is our engineer doing the work, and he's going to be at it. I'll try and leave updates here as we go.

approx .259 hp/lb or about the same as a saleen s7. Jeebus that is going to be slide happy and a ton of fun, or should i say 1.2 tons of fun.

Hm... from the looks of it, after market company gonna have a fun time figuring out how to fit after market NA EL/UEL header in there...
|
Glad to see it's a D1 and not a FD build.
