Most bang for the buck?
 

So I have roughly $1000 to spend on modifications. What will get me the most bang for the buck if I'm trying to make my FRS faster?

nothing that will make you say "money well spent," id spend it on exterior mods like wheels or coils!

Headers: $600-700
Tune: $200-800

I would say turbo or supercharger, but it's around $3,000-6,000. lol

I'm leaning towards either ecutek or carbon fiber drive shaft. I know the drive shaft will not produce more power but will make the car feel peppier.

What do you mean faster.. That's a detail people need to give you the best advice.. Faster in a straight line, faster around a track, faster around corners through canyons???

Better handling would be tires and springs.. Depending on the springs of course
Faster you could do headers take it to a muffler shop and for cheap get a pipe from the over pipe back with no muffler or cat for cheap cheap, then a tune.. It'll be loud, but you didn't state if its a DD and need things like livability.. LW pulley helps a bit.. Sure you could run to Home Depot and ala 90's with a PVC intake lol.. Cheap...

Just get a tune! Best bang for your buck. Will make your car faster in straights and twisty

For $1000 you can't make your car much faster but at least you can make it sound better with an exhaust upgrade.

You can improve the feel of the car with transmission mount stiffener and subframe bushings. Tune, intake, or exhaust would be good with remaining money as first 2 could be had for roughly 10% of your budget.
