Wrapped my dash trim

Decided to take a try at wrapping the dash trim on my BRZ (the silver pieces). Used 3M 1080 vinyl wrap in hot red metallic. Never tried vinyl wrap before, but after playing with it a while -- WOW, what good results -- and I'm just a weekend car buff, not a professional by any means. Other than the bold color, it looks like OEM. This sure beats trying to paint it. Quick, and if you mess up or don't like it, just pull it off. Here are some pics. I had also ordered some silver carbon fiber vinyl for comparison -- which really looks good, and certainly would be a bit more understated. If I tire from the red, I'll just change it. (The red is more garish in the photos than the real thing)

I think I darker shade of red would've been sick, good job though!

The red looks darker in person, for some reason the camera makes it look fluorescent. I tried to tone down the color before I posted it, but probably need Photoshop.

Here are some adjusted pictures. This is closer to how the red looks (at least on my monitor). I'll say, it looks really good a night. (Though I can't get a good picture of that).

looks like a beetle's interior.

Great job! I keep getting micro folds/winkles in the very edges of the curvy bits like door handles and shifter trim. Any closeups of the edges? Mine looked awesome form a couple feet back but if you closely inspected it you'd see one and it would frustrate me so much I'd rip the whole thing off. How'd you overcome the tiny wrinkles?

Pull real tight. Hair dryer (for a few seconds) then pulling again got out most. But, probably the quickest thing I figured out is start at the edge/corner that is most visible, then work towards the edge that is hidden - the final part was the hardest, but if it was creased in a hidden area you didn't see it.

Careful stretching too much, it can shrink back on a warm day in the sun leaving exposed edges. Make sure to "cure" it w heat to its final shape depending what vinyl u used

Pretty good job on the craftsmanship... (personally) I hate the color.

Looks very well done. Thats waaaay too "hey look at me" for my taste but it looks great, enjoy! I'm a total black/white/gray ultra minimalist about everything.
