Mineral Wells Drift Event May 19th

Hey guys, just thought I would post some info about the upcoming event at mineral wells.

Event held by UpShift Videos
Sunday, May 19th at Mineral Wells Airport
5300 Airport Rd
Mineral Wells, TX 76067

Driver's meeting is at 10am so if you want to drive, make sure to make it for that. Food and beverages are provided for drivers.

Entry fee: $25 for drivers, $5 for spectators.

These events are always very laid back and a lot of fun. TONS of seat time too! The course is generally a 3rd gear course for most cars, some get to 4th. The event is not a competition. Just open practice for fun. Everybody is friendly and very helpful and it's a great environment.

Come along and drive, get some ride alongs or just watch and have a great day!

I'll be there driving my FR-S and will be more than happy to give ride alongs. Just bring a helmet:D

If you have any questions, feel free to post here or hit me up

You should definitely come out! These events are great to have cause they're low cost but offer a lot of drive time. Great "bang for your buck" events. Best way to make sure we keep having them is by people showing up.

I live in lawton, OK so it's just over 2 hours of a drive for me but it's worth it for sure. I can guarantee that if somebody here goes, they'll leave wanting to do it themselves

Yeah, I would probably be a spectator since I dont know how to drift but would consider grabing a helmet for a ride along. In the future I plan to take some clases to track my fr-s.

I've been to a couple of these when I still had my 1990 240sx. These are great for practice if your willing to take your car out there. There are people that would even help to show you how its done if you so desire. Nice laid back meet/drifting. Sadly I work most weekends now and miss these.

People are willing to teach ad if you have your helmet, Myself and others are more than happy to let you ride along.

Drifting is easy. Just takes patience and seat time

I been meaning to go to these events and I would love to learn how to drift. I'll probably go to this one for sure. I'll bring a helmet!

Go to Facebook and check out the UpShift Video and Fabricated Motorsports pages. They post info about their upcoming events on there

They are the two main organizations that put on the events within Texas

Can't find the upshift video page. I'll be in Austin watching V8 Supercars but I'd like to add these events to my schedule...

Try searching "Up Shift Video"

They changed it to two words recently.

Do I need a specific helmet or can it be any type?

So long as it's DOT approved and not severely damaged, you should be good

Just bumping the thread as a reminder and opportunity for more people to see.

Gonna be a lot of fun out there. I've been told that the course will also be available for people to run time attack/auto x runs through if they want. Prices are still the same.

If you can't make this Sunday's event. Fabricated Motorsports is holding one next Sunday (May 26th) at the same place and it starts at 9am. Price is $50 to drive and spectating is still $5.

Some of the pro am guys will be at both of these events so it's a great opportunity to get a ride along with a seasoned driver or just hang out and have a good time with everybody.
