Motorsports Northeast Autocross 5-25-2013
I know some of the guys expressed interest in trying out autocross.
The next event at MetLife Stadium is on 5-25-2013 run by Motorsports Northeast. Link to register is here. The event costs $60. https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/cale...curyearindex=7 If you have no modifications done, you are in D class. If this is your first event or you are still rather new, please let the people know when you pay on-site. Here's some quick tips for first timers/novices: Things to bring to autocross event Valid drivers license Money Helmet (if you have one, if not they have rentals) Layers of warm clothing in case the weather turns cold Plenty of drinking water, and food for lunch Sunscreen (weather dependent) And anything else you think you would need for a day outside In terms of car prep: You will want to clean out your car and over-inflate your tires. Over-inflating your tires will cause your tires to have a stiffer sidewalls (especially needed if you are running the stock tires). Also a good idea to check your fluids before the event as well. Once you get to the event, 1) Go to have fun! You are doing this because you want to drive your car and get to hoon about legally! 2) Remember to walk the course (and do it more than once). You don't get practice laps in autocrossing so it's a big deal. There will also be a novice course walk to help you understand the course better. 3) Get an instructor! Instructor are available on-site. They can ride with you to give you pointers in what to look for. There will be other events later in the year you can work on going faster (still, you can ask for an instructor then too). For all your runs, you can ask for an instructor to get the biggest bang for the buck. They will be more than happy to help! 4) Go fast in the fast places and slow in the slow places. That may seem like common sense, but you'll understand why especially when you start. 5) Remember to have fun!!! :burnrubber: |
I never done this. should i?? -_-

I might be free for this one, so hopefully I'll see you there.
EDIT: oh what the hell, registered! Don't forget painters tape (1/2" for numbering your car and 1" if you want to tape up your bumper for cone marks), air pump, tire pressure gauge, and insect repellent if necessary. |
A sea of cones, noooooo!!!! I went to Solo and it's really hard to go back to any other auto x. I just did this yesterday in AC baderfield. Sorry for the mad wind noise and shitty mount shaking noise :/

Bader is an awesome venue. May be able to make this one w/ MSNE.
|
Bader field is definitely a cool location. I went there for the Phase 1 Evo School last year. It was pretty epic because the start of the course on that day had me facing Trump Plaza. haha
|
Bump. 1 more week!
|
Considering my car is stock, i guess im class -DD, what exactly is the car number? License plate?
