Ajdustable front sway bar link on a coilover questions
 

I just happened to install the bc br coilover that came with those adjustable sway bar link .

I swapped the oem link with those , and I set them on the shortest lenght , due to I also set my front coilover height to the lowest drop ... Around 2" ...

The thing is I notice that the front suspension is very floaty after the install. Did I do the install right ?

My steering wheels is off to the left a little bit, I understand that my alignment is off as well , I will bring car to get an alignment tomorrow morning

Would the floaty ride is because of those sway bar links being too short or the alignment is out of wack ?

Any input would be appreciated .

not sure but im on bc coils and im sittn bout a 1 finger gap on the front and rear. i left stock endlinks.car feels great, ive even tracked it like this. adjustables i believe are for preloading a sway bar not as much relevance to your ride height

So it seems like it has to be about the same lenght as the stockies link then ?

Adj. sway bar end links, in my opinion, are not needed on this platform..

The reason why so many companies have them for the 86 is because they are the same as other Subies!

My opinion is to swap in the stockers or adjust them to the length of the stock ones, as you suggested..

Adjustable swaybar endlinks are supposed to be adjusted to just line up with the swaybar at your normal ride height. That way there is no preload on the swaybar.

Glad someone corrected the misinformation in this thread. You need to put the car on a drive on lift or up on ramps so that it is sitting at ride height with the weight of the car on the wheels and tires and then adjust the end link length so that it is unloaded.

thanks guys , I did the adjustment of those link length matched to the stockies.....rides better now.
