Rear View Mirror Rattle

Does anyone else have the issue of the rear view mirror rattling? It's my ONLY rattle from my single JL 10W3v3/2.

It only happens on certain frequencies of course, and if I put my hand on it, or any part of the mount it stops. I wonder if it's not from the inside of the mirror...

I have the homelink mirror also.

Does anyone else have this or figured out how to stop it?

Thanks!

take it to the dealership and they'll fix it for free. I had the same issue and it's caused by strip threads in the silver stub that sits in the u-clip, thus making the phillip head screw loose.

Happened to me when I first installed my homelink mirror... I accidentally stripped the plate... did not know they were not threaded.

Ended up buying a new install hardware and installed it carefully. No rattle for months now. :) Good luck!

I finally tracked my rattle down to my rearview mirror as well. I have the frameless that comes stock with the 10 series (monogram as well I believe). Anyone take a crack at quieting it down? It's only certain bass frequencies, but since it's so close to my head it's pretty annoying. :(

I have a frameless rear view mirror. It rattled horribly after my sub install. To eliminate the rattle I placed a thin piece of foam between the glass and the mount. It's actually a piece of tool chest drawer liner. Worked perfectly and because it's dark it's hardly noticeable from the outside.
