Toyota have confirmed my suspicion of a £25k price tag....

Well it really sucks they didn't meet their own target and press information of £20k but not unexpected.

Though it does mean I'm out, £20k yes, 25k no thanks better options for the money

I have a strange feeling our price might be too high then.

Well in Japan the price ranges from $25k - $40k. In the UK we are only getting the top end G Limited model. I would think the Scion, which is a bit more basic, will be closer to $25k + tax

I VW Gold GTI is £28k here so I think it a really good price actually.

Still a bit higher than I wanted really :(

Onwards to the pre registered and nearly new! Year or two old JDM imports may well look an attractive option too.

I'll sell you mine next year for £30k if you want ;)

Not a bad price if it includes the spec already listed on the UK website minus the leather and sat nav upgrade. Hopefully Toyota will offer an attractive finance package to attract new customers to the brand.

Fair comment. A Scirroco is about that price too once you put the options on top and a TT is closer to £30k. If it is for a well specced model im a happy chap.

Infernal 02-03-2012 10:03 AM

im pretty sure its only one spec that we get - it was like that with the supra - we got pretty much the best spec in the world on that car.

it'll be 2.5 grand cheaper than a bmw 125i m-sport and better equipped too

the depreciation of these things might be the killer - if they limit the number they bring into the uk it will help a lot but also piss a lot of folks off because they can't get one

Probably not alot!

Well a £28k Golf GTI is $31+Tax in the US so gonig by that the FR-S should cost around $27k + TAX. But the US is getting a lower spec model, so you might be able to knock $2-3k off that.

Yeah all the options you guys are getting adds $4,000 when I think of it.

Navigation is typically $1,500-2000
Leather is typically $1,000
HID Headlight $500.00 upgrade
Rear spoiler $500.00
Push Button Start $500.00
ACC $250-500

When all that is added up it looks like we will pay about 4k less than 27k. If so then I am :happyanim:

23 sounds right. The closest competitor would arguably be the Miata which starts at 23,470 (2012 model yr) in N. America. The Gen Coup starts at 22,250. I think 23 is not unlikely or unreasonable especially if this is to be a 2013 model yr.

Leather isn't standard. It about £1.2k upgrade and upgrading the 10inch touch screen to include nav is £500

Dont forget, fog lights, cruise control, Rear view camera, nicer chrome tailpipes.... I also heard it has auto folding wing mirrors and auto dimming rear view mirror.... I think the nav system is a pioneer too...
